Dangerous Backyard Slope and Drainage

In this two-fold project, we were first brought in to tame a dangerously steep slope in the backyard.

With the use of natural stone boulders from a local quarry and some serious drainage solutions, we were able to add usable tiers, reclaim the area and prevent any further erosion on the hillside.

The tiers are wide enough to accommodate a commercial mower.
We were also able to incorporate slab steps down from the upper patio for safe access to the backyard.

For the second project, we were asked to add a patio into previously unused space. With the removal of a 75′ Maple, we set out to utilize the existing slope along the neighboring fence and keep some of the great elements that were already in place.

Once we completed the flagstone patio and stacked Colonial stone wall, we created a long planting bed with new dwarf trees and some taller evergreens to screen the fence and added a custom stone veneer fireplace to bring the area together.
