Custom Elevated Patio Solution and Install

This landscape project was very challenging, with a steep, unstable slope that the homeowner wanted to transform into an area for entertaining.

Cider Mill Landscapes provided a landscape and hardscape solution. One that was very different and more natural looking than the other contractors who looked at the project.

While two other contractors designed a hardscaped area with segmental concrete, we visualized using large boulders from a local quarry to build up the elevation consistent with the driveway and the existing deck stairs.

By using irregular boulders for the elevation changes and dimensional flagstone for the custom stonework decking, we were able to maintain the overall naturalized look of the garden landscape without losing any of the function required for such an involved project.

While the site provided limited access and difficult footing, especially during a very rainy spring. We were able to build a custom stonework patio that was functional and appropriate in the spacious Chester County setting where it was located.
